Seniors are the most vulnerable to COVID-19, yet they continued to throng the traditional wet markets in Singapore. So much so that government lockdown measures included limiting the number of people in these markets and the number of times people allowed to visit each market.
To encourage seniors to stay home and shop online instead, IMDA partnered live streaming veteran Max Kee of Lian Huat Seafood to digitise one of the oldest wet markets in Singapore, Tekka Market.
We built rudimentary payment gateways for easy adoption, ran real-time seafood and meat auctions on Facebook Live, worked with stall holders to package their goods for digital consumption, and partnered a logistics company to execute contactless delivery.
